For French writer and Nobel laureate André Gide, grey was the color of truth, which might be due to its counterbalancing effect and the seductive radiance of this hue. In the DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL, the juxtaposition of a platinum case and a silver Rhodium dial accommodates both of these aspects. Since 2006, its name has been a synonym for the ingenious combination of a flyback chronograph and a perpetual calendar. With three highly elaborate, technically advanced mechanisms, it fully lives up to the task of precise short-time measurements: The column-wheel concept assures dependable control of all chronograph functions, the jumping minute counter always delivers distinct legibility of stopped times and the flyback system makes it possible to accurately measure the durations of events in quick succession.

With its Lange outsize date, day of week, month and leap year indications, the perpetual calendar is so precise that it requires no adjustment until the year 2100, when a one-day correction is needed. All calendar displays can be advanced simultaneously with a convenient rapid-correction pusher. Additionally, three recessed correctors allow the displays to be adjusted separately.

The silver Rhodium hue of the dial clearly emphasizes the displays and prominently showcases the deep blue lunar disc with its golden stars. Baton hour markers as well as hour and minute hands in rhodiumed gold highlight the rich-contrast design that was first introduced with the 2010 launch of the pink-gold version. The chronograph hand indicates the stopped time to one-fifth of a second. It is made of blued steel. The same material was chosen for the minute counter and seconds hands, allowing them to stand out prominently against the bright rhodié background of the subsidiary dials. With its movement consisting of 556 lavishly finished parts, it delivers fresh proof of the Saxon manufactory’s virtuosity in the realm of horological complications.

 

This watch is for the true watch connoisseur, it combines the complications of the Datograph & the Langematik Perpetual into 1 unbelievable wristwatch. Extra attention is given to the hand decorated finishing of every surface - both viewable & concealed.

This grand complication has a black crocodile strap. 

With an ingenious combination of a flyback chronograph and a perpetual calendar, the master watchmakers at Lange have yet again substantiated their horological artistry.

The Datograph Perpetual always indicates the correct date, including leap years. Apart from the day of the week, the month, the four-year cycle with leap years, and the moon phase, the latest Lange watch also indicates the day/night rhythm. Because of the extreme precision of the mechanism, the moon phase deviates from the true lunar cycle by only one day every 122 years.

But the Datograph Perpetual does not only excel in measuring long periods of time. It is also a specialist in short-time measurements that showcase the useful functions of the legendary Lange flyback chronographs with the precisely jumping minute counter and the classic column wheel mechanism. It is capable of measuring “the moment of infinite worth” mentioned above to an accuracy of one-fifth of a second.

As is the case with all Lange watches, the Datograph Perpetual features a sapphire-crystal back which reveals the beauty of the exclusive manually wound calibre L952.1 movement with its plates and bridges made of untreated German silver.

The customer is responsible for all freight charges for items returned back to us. We recommend a carrier with a tracking number to verify package delivery. Insurance is highly recommended for the return package.

All returns not accepted will be mailed back to the customer, at the customer's expense, via fully insured overnight shipping.
