Vintage 1952 Bulova Excellency 21 jewels. Running and ready to wear

Offered here is a very clean Bulova Excellency from the 1950's. This watch is in running order and is keeping good time.

This watch has been cleaned and oiled. The 10 BM Bulova built 21 jewel mechanical movement is stem-wind and must be wound daily to keep running. The gold tone case is in average condition.  I see wear through of the plating on the lugs and the case shows numerous scratches and deep nicks. I also noted a crease on the case back near the winding stem position. The case measures 25 mm x 28 mm. Bulova date coded their watches and here I note a discrepancy. The movement is stamped L2 which denotes 1952 and the case back is stamped L1 which denotes 1951. It is possible that the movement was re cased at some point in the distant past.  Fitment is good and everything works as designed. Not a huge deal, but necessary to point out. Has "BULOVA" marked crown.

The pearl colored dial shows its age with marks and scratches. The gold color hands and raised gold color hour markers look nice. 

The 2 piece black color leather strap is used but in very nice condition.  It looks great and compliments this watch very nicely.  Comfortable on the wrist.

Plastic crystal is in nice condition.

     These are smaller size watches with most cases measuring 25 mm to 40 mm. Gents watches were smaller back in my day. Accurate case size measurements are taken and will be stated in the description.

          You are buying from a retiring watchmaker, and it is time for me to thin out my collection of watches. Yes, I repaired and collected. I've always liked watches.

           Most, but not all, of the watches I'm selling will have been cleaned and oiled and tested by myself prior to listing. Servicing status will be so stated.  They will be adjusted to run as accurately as I can possibly make them run. Accuracy will vary according to the quality of the movement.  None of the mechanical movements will be quartz accurate.

                        I will not sell a watch that I do not believe is running at an acceptable rate. 

 I take high resolution close up pictures so you can see what you're bidding on. Please study them carefully.

International shipping is available through the Global Shipping Program only. International bidders should be aware that there will be additional costs such as import duties, taxes and other fees (you pay) involved with getting your purchase into your hands. Of this I have no control. The 4 dollars I show in my listing will only get the item to the Global Shipping Center.
